Activists from the Democratic Women’s Association of India (AIDWA) and All India Women’s Federation held a procession against emerging inflation and Goods and Services Tax (GST) on roundabout meals from the main court to the collector here on Thursday.

Asha Mishra from Federation of Indian Women and Madhu Garg from AIDWA led the procession. However, a strong police campaign did not allow the activists to continue against the collector. A memorandum addressed to the President of India was also submitted to the Lucknow District Justice of the Peace through the police. As in the memorandum, hundreds of thousands of other people have lost their livelihoods to the pandemic. On the other hand, the emerging inflation has specifically harmed the lives of deficient women, he said.

Activists further demanded a ban on the use of biometric machines in the distribution of rations. AIDWA has racked up 10,000 signatures through an anti-inflation marketing campaign that will be sent to the President of India.

Her repeated hand calmly spreads white foam over a shopper’s face, right here in this modest hair salon in central Delhi.
