KUALA LUMPUR, July 2 – Touch ‘n Go Group (TnG) announced its partnership with the Ministry of Finance (MoF) and Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) to lead Budget 2021 initiatives through Go-eCommerce Onboarding and Shop Malaysia Online (SMO) campaigns.
In a statement released today, the group said SMO campaigns will run from July 1 to December 31, 2021, to support local businesses and encourage online shopping.
TNG Digital Sdn Bhd CEO Ignatius Ong said during the onboarding campaign that every micro, small and medium business or Malaysian individual (without business registration) who successfully registers with TnG eWallet during the campaign period will be entitled to a grant of RM20 for their first successful sale.
This is limited to the first 80,000 new TnG e-wallet merchants approved during the campaign period.
At the same time, he said the SMO campaign, in which TnG eWallet is participating for the second time, will help boost government incentives to get new and existing users to buy digitally.
“In these difficult times and thanks to such consumer campaigns, our growing user base offers small retailers the opportunity to maintain themselves and even prosper, especially as consumers turn to online shopping and contactless transactions, ”he added. – Bernama
