TikTok User Shares Amazing Kmart Hack For Online Shopping: “So Cool”
One TikTok user shared the amazing Kmart hack he discovered that helps people shop online.
Looking to buy a $ 29 hallway table, Rangihuia Woods (@rangihuiawoods) realized that the retailer has a feature that allows buyers to view the piece of furniture in their own home.
By clicking “show in your space” on the article page, users can see what this would look like in real life using augmented reality.
“I just wanted to show you guys to see if I’m the only one who doesn’t know about this,” Rangihuia said in her post.
The video shows the 32-year-old going to the Kmart website and clicking the ‘show in your space’ button.
The page then launches the AR experience and explains that you need to “point your camera at the ground or surface and move it side to side.”
After that, the hallway table virtually appears on her camera inside her house so she can visualize if it fits into the room.
“So you can use it on your phone and you can place it in your house!” She exclaims. “What the hell?!”
Rangihuia followers were quick to rush to the comments to express their admiration for the feature.
“Wow, that’s so cool,” one person wrote.
“Try before you buy!” someone else commented, and Rangihuia replied, “Isn’t that a good idea!”
Kmart apparently launched the tech feature in September of last year, alongside a new chatbot called KBot Assist to answer any questions you might have about the product.
“The immersive AR and AI experience was designed to bring joy and inspiration to the lives of customers,” said Melissa Wong, Chief Digital Officer at Kmart.
“With the added help of our AI chatbot personality – KBot assist – we were able to make shopping easier for customers by sprinkling fun throughout the customer journey,” she added.
