Strong points! Fight Circus with 2 against 1 MMA and other quirks
For most average mixed martial arts fans, this weekend was all about UFC fights on ESPN featuring Frankie Edgar falling to bantamweight, and possibly the Bellator Friday event featuring “The world’s biggest light heavyweight” (womp) Ryan Bader. But for all the hardcore kiddies on Twitter, there was one other event that created some hype: Fight Circus, brought to you by live webcam porn streaming company CamSoda.
This is not CamSoda’s first MMA venture. In 2018, they hosted CamSoda Legends with Ricco Rodriguez and artist formerly known as “Crazy Horse” Charles Bennett. It was pretty freakshow. But this time, they’ve gone to Squared Monsters, teaming up with Full Metal Dojo promoter Jon Nutt in Thailand. And we know the ‘freakshow’ is thrown a lot in MMA, but we can confirm that it’s the freakshow to end all freakshows (until Fight Circus 2, at least).
Take a look at the promo:
They really mixed the martial arts for this one with openweight, pro vs two joes, lethwei rules, unarmed MMA, hybrid / muay thai / mma boxing, and even a surprise womens versus man match, why not?
First of all, what undoubtedly drew you to this post: the two-on-one fights between “Bank & No Money” and Mikhail Vetrila.
Because Fight Circus is Fight Circus, Nutt decided that the 2 on 1 fight deserved an immediate rematch. As in, immediately. Here we go again!
There was a fight where the first round was the rules of boxing, the second round was the rules of Muay Thai and the third round was the rules of MMA.
It wasn’t past the start of the second one of the fighters realized he didn’t like getting his face kicked.
Then there was the surprise woman-to-man wrestling match, which ended with the man being hit by the bare back choke.
Here’s a Kyokushin vs Muay Thai fight that was actually a bit badass.
And here is the bare-handed lethwei fight between Po Chissakan and Nattarat Prempida which went rather badly.
Nattarat Prempida literally cries in the corner before the second round. The referee must have asked her if she was okay with continuing before starting the round. She’s in a fight that’s mostly bare-handed with legal head butts. Ouch. #FightCircus

Our favorite part of the main event between Steven Banks and Sam Cassidy:
Fight Circus winners receive a sword (or in one case, a gold ax). Losers get a bang, which doesn’t seem like a good thing to give in a country with very strict marijuana laws.
Here are the results, courtesy of Cory Braiterman. As you can see, Fight Circus is more about the show than the athletes involved, so we don’t have the names of everyone involved and the end times. We’ll update whenever Full Metal Dojo decides results are important:
Steven Banks defeated Sam Cassidy’s Decision (HW Muay Thai)
