NewsBrands in search of Ireland’s best journalism of the year
Registration will open soon for the NewsBrands Ireland Journalism Awards 2021.
The awards, sponsored by the National Lottery, celebrate the best in Irish journalism and feature a total of 23 categories covering all fields and disciplines. Entries open Monday July 12 and can be submitted until Friday July 30 at www.journalismawards.ie.
Former Irish Examiner editor-in-chief Tim Vaughan will chair the independent jury, which will decide on the shortlist and the winners in each category.
Commenting on the launch of this year’s Journalism Awards, Ann Marie Lenihan, CEO of NewsBrands Ireland, said: “Our annual Journalism Awards are an important showcase for the trusted journalism produced by our members. This year, news reporters continued to publish important articles that were in the public interest.
“It will be an extremely difficult job for the jury to choose this year’s winners – and we are extremely grateful to Tim Vaughan, the president of the jury, and to all of the judges who so generously give of their time to read and assess the entries. . “
The remaining panel members are expected to be announced this month.
